Tempe's Champions for People Living with Dementia

Dementia Friends Arizona, dementia friendly, Tempe, Champions

Tempe now has 50 new Champions trained by the  Dementia Friends Arizona program.  Pictured are 11 Champions who attended our very first session and who will now share their new-found knowledge with their communities.

A Champion is a Friend Among Friends

A Dementia Friend Champion, is a friend among friends.  Champions will help neighbors, business associates, church members, and other community members become Dementia Friends to make Tempe a livable city for people living with dementia.

Champions were trained in some easy lessons:

•The five key messages everyone should know about dementia
•Facilitating a Dementia Friends Arizona information session with your group

Dementia Friends Arizona
sessions can help you learn small ways to help people living with memory loss.  The sessions are led by the Champions.  Find a session by clicking here.
