Arts Coordinator - Arts Education

This position will coordinate over 300 classes and workshops at the Edna Vihel Center. As well as directly hire, train and supervise the teaching artists and part-time staff teaching those programs. The role of the Arts Coordinator is to actively plan and implement quality arts and culture programs for and with the community that is inclusive, equitable, educational and engaging. This position is a member of the arts engagement team within the Arts and Culture Division. The arts coordinator will support educational initiatives and collaborations with schools, arts organizations, community groups, universities and arts educators.

Salary range: $57,294-$77,346

Studio Artists - Residency Program

The Studio Artists Program is looking a visual artist with teaching experience. This partnership between Tempe Elementary District and the City of Tempe provides students with an opportunity to experience quality arts programming and provide personal studio space for the artists. Artists receive $125 per three-hour workshop taught in approximately 25 classrooms. The artist will develop a workshop that relates to his or her artistic expertise and teach that same workshop to 3rd graders. The residency commitment is two years with an option to renew. The artist will receive a studio space located at an elementary school in Tempe. The personal studio space is available to the artist at all times of the day and throughout the year. 

Salary range: $125/workshop + studio space

Event Attendants - Tempe Center for the Arts

Three Event Attendant positions, with varying levels of responsibility, are currently open to applicants with strong customer service skills. Event Attendants interface with the public, ensure house safety procedures are followed, and assist patrons during events.

Classes are available for youth and adults in jewelry, ceramics, painting, mosaic, theater, and dance.  Tempe Arts Grants

Vibrant City Grant

Vibrant City Grants are intended to activate Tempe through the inclusion of arts and cultural participation, celebration of diversity, building community connections, and supporting local arts. This grant is available to individual artists, non-profit organizations, and community groups to produce arts-related performances, festivals, and activities that encourage community participation in the arts. 

Amount: Grant awards are available for $250-$750, requests for $250 that are free and open to the community do not require matching funds.
